Jefferson Community College is hosting an opioid and heroin awareness and prevention event next week.
Chemical dependency assistant professor Trisha Howell and student Amy Clarke explained it's a chance for parents and their 12-plus-year-old children to learn more about the drug problem.
Watch the video for their interview on 7 News This Morning.
The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 15 at JCC's Jules Center.
Local agencies will set up information booths and there's a "mischief room" display, where people can see if they can find all the drug-hiding places in a typical teenager's bedroom.
There will also be a panel discussion with police, emergency responders, addiction experts, treatment providers and others.
