Accident Blamed For Watertown Power Outage

Posted: Updated:

Nearly 1,000 National Grid customers in Watertown and the city outskirts lost power early Friday afternoon.

It was apparently caused by an accident at the intersection of outer Gotham Street and Spring Valley Drive in the town of Watertown.

Officials said a trailer towed by a pickup truck struck a guide wire, which took out the power.

National Grid restored power about 20 minutes after the accident.
