North Country 'Welcomes' Unseasonably Cold Weather

Posted: Updated:

It's our first glimpse of winter with the thermometer dropping in the teens and 20s.

The average temperature for this time of year is 49 degrees, so the weather is unseasonably cold.

People out and about Friday traded in t-shirts and light jackets for coats, hats, and gloves.

"I'm equipped, so bring it on, baby. Looking forward to it, feeling good and separate the men from the boys," said David Graf, from Watertown

"We got lucky so far getting the kind of warm weather we had so it was due to come sooner or later and here it is," said Anthony Smykla, from Watertown.

The record low for this date was 14 degrees. That happened in 1991.

In 1966, the record high temperature for this date hit 70 degrees.
