Fire Department Auxiliary Treasurer Accused Of Stealing

The treasurer of the West Carthage Fire Department auxiliary is accused of stealing money from the organization.

The West Carthage police chief says Melinda Newcomb was charged on November 6 with attempted larceny and falsifying business records. 

The amount allegedly stolen was less than $1,000.

Newcomb was released pending a later court appearance.
