Tana S. Tarzia, 75, of Hickory Lane, and County Rt. 100 A Wellesley Island , passed away at her home November 16, 2017, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson county.

Tana was born September 17, 1942, in Watertown, daughter of Jerimiah  And Geraldine Cullen Thorpe. She graduated  in 1960 from Immaculate Heart Academy. On October 21, 1960, she eloped with Anthony V.( Tony)  Tarzia  to Dillon , South Carolina; with a Marriage Blessing upon return to Watertown.

Tana  served on the board of directors for the Jeff Bottling Co., also known as Pepsi Cola of Watertown.  In the 1980’s Tana found satisfaction as a Realtor with  Kemp Realty of Clayton ; finding homes and properties  along the River for many families.

Tana  was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, a past  member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and had volunteered at the Samaritan Medical Gift Shop.    Tana enjoyed travel and with her husband Tony visited  Europe, China, and  Japan.  She enjoyed crocheting, redesigning her kitchens, reading cookbooks, loved dogs and  nature ; particularly the wildlife at her Wellesley Island home.  She was always on the go and didn’t sit still; whether it was attending her grandchildrens’  musical or sports events or quick trips to New York City.

Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Todd and his companion Robert Dalton, Timothy and his companion Valerie Berry, Ted, a daughter, Tamara and her husband  Mark Taylor, all of Watertown, three grandsons, Patrick Frender, Mark Anthony Taylor and Noah E. Taylor, a cousin Peter (Dianne) Cullen, Minnisota.   Tana is also survived by Gracie the Boxer dog and many grand-dogs.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 1pm at St. Patrick’s Church with Monsignor Robert Aucoin officiating. A private burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery.   Tana’s family would like everyone to join them at the Italian American Civic Association immediately following the funeral mass.  If you are unable to attend the funeral mass please join the Family after 2pm at the Italian American Club.
