Loretta Dorothy Platt, 86, of Constableville

CONSTABLEVILLE - Loretta Dorothy Platt, 86, died Saturday afternoon, December 2, 2017 at home in under the care of her family and Lewis County Hospice. She was formerly of Watson.

Loretta was born in Richville on November 4, 1931 the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn Johnston Dimock where she graduated from Richville High School. When she was younger she worked at the Hotel Syracuse and General Electric. Loretta went to work for A.M.F. in Lowville and retired after 28 years of service. After retirement she was a home health aide and care giver. She was also active with the Lewis County General Hospital Auxiliary for many years in the gift shop.

Loretta married Charles Wilton and their marriage ended in divorce. She married John W. Platt, Sr. on September 18, 1969 in Juarez, Mexico. Mr. Platt died on February 28, 2015.

She is survived by her children, John (Deborah) Wilton; Steve (Mary) Wilton; Linda Wilton; Trisha (Paul) Crimmins; April (Frank) Burrows; and step-children; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson. Loretta recently had the opportunity to hold several of the great grandchildren; she is survived by her three sisters, Estelle Vancour; Laurie McVoy; Ramona (Wayne) Smith.

Loretta is predeceased by her four brothers, Karl “Daniel”, Orton “Sonny”, Frank “Bud”, and Walter “Gerald”, and two infant siblings.

Our mother enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to her “vacation home” in Rhode Island and visiting Newport Beach. She was respected by all who knew her and was strong willed. Loretta was blessed to have been able to attend her daughters wedding reception this October with family and friends.
