There's a winter storm watch that starts Wednesday morning for Jefferson and Lewis counties.
Until then, Monday will be calm and Tuesday will be windy and rainy. Highs will be in the upper-40s to around 50 both days.
The National Weather Service is calling for lake effect snow starting Wednesday morning and lasting through Friday morning.
It could be heavy at times, with the heaviest snowfall amounts in the 10- to 18-inch range.
Forecasters say the greatest amounts will likely fall in central Jefferson County and northern Lewis County.
Heavy snowfall could lower visibility, make roads slippery, and, overall, make driving difficult.
Highs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be in the low- to mid-30s.
