Fort Drum's 10th Mountain Division Inspires Army's Football UniformPosted: Updated:
Fort Drum's 10th Mountain Division will be honored this Saturday during the 118th Army Navy game.
When Army's football team takes the field, they'll be wearing uniforms honoring the 10th.
"I am honored to see the West Point football team will pay homage to our storied division this Saturday when they 'Climb to Glory,' and beat Navy. This rivalry has the excitement of a bowl game for a lot of people and when Americans tune in they will see these young men play their hearts out for 60 minutes. I hope everyone will feel inspired knowing the true grit, tenacity and selfless service displayed on the football field will one day transfer over to leading America's sons and daughters and defending freedom...Go Army, Beat Navy," said Colonel Scott Naumann, a West Point alumni, a former commander of the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, and currently the Chief of Staff of the 10th Mountain Division.
The uniform is made by Nike.
The division was created during World War II. It's specialty is to conquer the land and fight on the harshest terrain, in any climate, anywhere in the world, to protect and defend the United States of America.
The uniform honors the past by re-telling the story of the "Climb to Glory."
