A Little Snow Today; The Big Show Starts LaterPosted: Updated:
You might see some lake effect snow showers off and on throughout Wednesday, but it's not expected to be a big deal. Until the evening that is.
A lake effect snow warning kicks in at 7 p.m. for Jefferson and Lewis counties. That lasts until 10 a.m. Friday.
Until then, snow is expected to be light when it falls at all. The day is expected to be mostly dry with highs in the upper-30s.
When they do start, lake effect bands are expected to be narrowly focused, most likely in southeastern Jefferson County, northern Lewis County and portions of northern Oswego County.
Accumulations of between 9 and 17 inches are expected in the hardest-hit areas through Friday morning.
Areas outside the narrow bands will likely see very little snow or no snow at all.
Highs will be in the mid-30s on Thursday and Friday.
There's a chance of snow showers each day Saturday through Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid-30s on Saturday, the mid-20s on Sunday, the low-30s on Monday, and the upper-20s on Tuesday.
