Lake effect snow was falling around Sandy Creek and southern parts of Jefferson County early Thursday morning.
Areas where it's snowing the most could see another 3 to 5 inches today. Totals through Friday morning could be from 7 to 13 inches.
There's still a lake effect snow warning in effect for Jefferson and Lewis counties until 10 a.m. Friday.
There's also a lake effect snow warning until 7 a.m. Friday for southern parts of St. Lawrence County.
There are also winter weather advisories until Friday morning for Oswego County and parts of the Adirondacks.
Highs Thursday and Friday will be in the low- to mid-30s.
There's a chance of snow each day after that through next Wednesday.
Highs will be in the low- to mid-30s Saturday, the upper-20s on Sunday, and around 30 on Monday.
Temperatures take a plunge after that, with highs around 20 on Tuesday and in the mid-teens on Wednesday.
