Lake effect snow has been mostly light since a warning started Wednesday evening, but that warning remains in effect for Jefferson and Lewis counties until 10 a.m. Friday.
There's also a lake effect snow warning for southern St. Lawrence County until 7 a.m. Friday.
Snow will likely fall in narrow bands, which could mean sudden changes in visibility and road conditions. Those bands are expected to be more focused and organized than they've been.
Those bands could shift north and south, so sometimes it will hit Watertown and sometimes not.
Another 7 to 13 inches are possible in the most persistent lake snow areas in Jefferson and Lewis counties and another 2 to 6 inches in St. Lawrence County.
