SPCA: Good Weekend For Adoptions & A Calendar Fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

After a busy weekend, the Jefferson County SPCA's main shelter is practically empty.

All that's left is a very large Bernese mountain dog mix. His name is Waffles and he's available starting today (Monday).

Executive director Heather Spezzano says the shelter adopted out 18 animals in just the past two days.

There will be a few dogs and a few cats available on Wednesday, she said, after they get their spay or neutering operations Tuesday.

Spezzano also talked about a calendar project the SPCA is using to raise money.

People can submit photos of their pets via the SPCA's Facebook page. Members of the community will select their favorites by casting their votes. Each vote costs $1.

The top 12 vote-getters will be featured on the calendar.

For more information on adopting an animal, volunteering, or becoming a member, call the shelter at 315-782-3260.

You can also visit www.jeffersoncountyspca.org or the SPCA's Facebook page.
