Norman G. Peterson, 82, Weaver Rd., Watertown, died Sunday, December 24th at the Samaritan Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 am Thursday, December 28th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 27th from 4 pm – 7 pm at the funeral home.
He was born in Watertown, March 23rd, 1935 a son to Albert Milton and Mary Louise Ghent Peterson. He attended Watertown High School and later received his GED.
Norm worked for the New York Air Brake, retiring after 43 years. He married Beverly Jean Ring October 22, 1955 at Asbury United Methodist Church. She passed away in June of 2009.
Mr. Peterson was an expert carpenter and machinist, and enjoyed working carpentry projects and restoring and selling vintage automobiles.
Norman is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Brenda, North Las Vegas and Scott, Watertown; two grandchildren, Mark Peterson, Jr. and Jennifer Grubb Peterson, both of Minot, ND; four great grandchildren, Kristen and Rachel Grubb, Luke and Brady Peterson, all of Minot; Elizabeth (Nicholas) Lajoie, Utica, and Patricia (Gerald) VanDyke, Virginia; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother David and one sister, Shirley Whalley.
