Woman Injured In Snowmobile Accident

A New Jersey woman was taken to a Utica hospital after she hit her arm and head while snowmobiling early Monday morning.

Lewis County sheriff's deputies say 25 year old Melissa Terranova of Franklin Park, N.J. was operating a snowmobile on Number 9 Road in the town of Martinsburg around 3:30 a.m. when she hit a tree that was across the trail.

The tree also hit 37 year old Lucas Lewyer of Haskell, N.J.

Terranova was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for treatment.

Lewyer was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
