A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a 48 year old Watertown man on burglary and other charges.
James Manton was indicted on the following counts:
- second- and third-degree burglary- third-degree grand larceny- fourth-degree attempted grand larceny- third-degree criminal possession of stolen property- second-degree criminal impersonation
Manton was arrested in August after Jefferson County sheriff's patrols responded to a burglary-in-progress call at a town of Lyme home Wednesday morning.
Officials said a husband and wife were sleeping in their 26130 County Route 57 home, when they were awakened by someone turning on lights at 2:36 a.m.
They called 911.
When deputies arrived, they said they found Manton outside the home.
Items taken from the home included jewelry and a shotgun.
