Posted: Updated:

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a 48 year old Watertown man on burglary and other charges.

James Manton was indicted on the following counts:

- second- and third-degree burglary
- third-degree grand larceny
- fourth-degree attempted grand larceny
- third-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- second-degree criminal impersonation

Manton was arrested in August after Jefferson County sheriff's patrols responded to a burglary-in-progress call at a town of Lyme home Wednesday morning.

Officials said a husband and wife were sleeping in their 26130 County Route 57 home, when they were awakened by someone turning on lights at 2:36 a.m.

They called 911.

When deputies arrived, they said they found Manton outside the home.

Items taken from the home included jewelry and a shotgun.
