Morning Checkup: Marijuana Addiction In Children

Marijuana addiction is risky. Especially in children.

That's according to Dr. Jason Lulejian, who's resident psychiatrist at Samaritan Medical Center.

He talked about marijuana addiction in children during Samaritan's weekly Morning Checkup segment on 7 News This Morning.

Seven percent of high school students are daily users of marijuana. Many people, he said, assume that marijuana has few risks, but it has risks and benefits like any other drugs.

The risk of addiction is double for young users.

Possible effects of marijuana include lowered IQ, loss of motivation, psychosis, paranoia, and depression
