Wegatchie - Patricia G. "Patty" Cushman, 57, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Burlington Medical Center in Vermont.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 6th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with pastor David Sheppard of the First Congregational Church of Morristown officiating. A celebration of life will be held after the service at the Riverside Hotel in Wegatchie.

Patty was born in Gouverneur on January 23, 1960, the daughter of Philip and Wilabel Tulley Johnson.

She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1978, from Cazenovia College in 1980 with an Associate's degree, and from Jefferson Community College in 1983 with an Associate's degree.

Patty was a lifelong resident of Wegatchie and married Robert E. Cushman in December 1991 in Wegatchie.

She had worked at Agway, owned P.G.C. Equipment Company, and was employed several years at Thousand Lakes Construction Company before working for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Patty owned and operated Riverside Hotel since her mother Wilabel's passing in 2011.

Patty's children were her #1 priority. She has always been an avid animal lover and currently cared for 4 horses, 5 dogs, and 2 cats. Patty enjoyed riding her horses at Otter Creek with her daughter Sami and friends Diane and Sue. She was also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks and NY Yankees, and enjoyed being outdoors in the garden and doing yard work.

Patty is survived by her husband Bob, her children Edward P. Cushman and Samantha A. "Grace" Cushman, her twin sister Phyllis Farrell of Wegatchie, and her half brother Brent Johnson of Hailesboro. She is predeceased by her parents Philip and Wilabel and her half brother Milton Johnson.

Memorial donations in Patty's memory are encouraged to be made to the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Fund, PO Box 64, Gouverneur, NY 13642.
