A Port Leyden family is homeless after fire swept through their home Sunday evening.
Fire officials say the 3002 Canal Street home where the Monica Kohl family lived was fully involved when they arrived around 7:45 p.m.
Firefighters say cold temperatures and deep snow hampered their efforts.
Equipment was brought in to tear down what was left of the building and the Red Cross was called in to help the family.
The property is owned by James Strigle and Ed Bullis.
The cause is under investigation.
