Woman Accused Of Stealing From Group Home Residents

Posted: Updated:

A Russell woman is accused of stealing items from residents of a United Helpers group home and returning them to a store for a gift card.

State police say 29 year old Danielle Dancause stole property bought by residents of the home for Christmas.

Troopers say she worked at the home, which is on McIntyre Road in the town of Oswegatchie.

Police say Dancause took the six DVDs and two electric tooth brushes -- valued at $178.29 -- to Walmart in exchange for a gift card.

She was ticketed for petit larceny and will appear in Oswegatchie town court at a later date.
