A traffic stop leads to a meth-making charge for one Lewis County resident and a weapons charge for another.

Sheriff's deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 39 year old Angela Brouty of Lyons Falls on State Route 12 in the town of Martinsburg Tuesday afternoon.

After a police dog searched the vehicle, deputies say they found meth-making materials inside.

A passenger, 27 year old Cody Fox of Croghan, allegedly had meth and a 9 mm handgun.

Brouty was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine and Fox was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Brouty was jailed on $1,000 bail and Fox was sent to jail without bail.
