Posted: Updated:

A Lyons Falls apartment house was destroyed by fire Thursday.

Lewis County dispatchers say a tenant in an upstairs apartment got everyone out safely after he notice smoke coming from a fixture and called 911 around 5 p.m.

The attic and second floor of the 4121 Center Street building were fully involved when firefighters arrived.

No one was hurt and the cause remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is helping the two families who lived there.

The building is owned by Fred Marriott of Lyons Falls.
