Police: No Charges Will Be Filed In Psych Center Patient's Death

Posted: Updated:

Ogdensburg Police Department says no charges will be filed in connection with an altercation last month that led to the death of a St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center patient.

According to police, 78 year old Patrick Moore attacked the other patient with a cane on December 31.

Police said the victim of the attack attempted to defend himself and grabbed the cane.

The two patients fell to the floor and the victim landed on top of Moore, police said.

Moore sustained a broken pelvis. Police determined that Moore’s death was a result of complications resulting from the broken Pelvis.

According to police, the victim of the attack was acting in self-defense when the injury to Moore occurred.

The case has been closed.
