Norfolk Fire Chief Richard Bump says teamwork saved a home after an overnight barn fire.

An early photo provided by a viewer shows the structure at 373 County Route 38 is a total loss.

The property is owned by Larry Labarge.

The fire chief says next to the barn, 20-30 feet away, was a house and the teamwork between his department and volunteers from Louisville, Madrid, Norwood and West Stockholm is why the home is still standing. Norfolk Rescue was also on scene.

The barn is a total loss. Things inside it included vehicles, machinery and tools.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The call came in at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
