Cars slid into ditches and piled up on a bridge near Evans Mills Tuesday morning.
The Jefferson County sheriff's office issued a travel advisory Tuesday for the entire county because of the slippery road conditions and a large number of accidents.
Jeffrey Clark was one of the driver's whose car was stuck on the side of the road.
"As I was slowing down to about 15 miles per hour, my car slid sideways, tail end started pulling out and I came straight into, I guess this is a ditch, and I tried to dig myself out and it just got worse."
Clark said he called his insurance company and was waiting for roadside assistance around the same time another driver who slid into the ditch was speaking with a police officer.
