Federal authorities say police found more than 100 pounds of cocaine in a vehicle driven by a Hogansburg man that was stopped for speeding on Interstate 81.
Officials with the Department of Justice say 24 year old Jake Patnode was heading north when he was stopped by Oswego County sheriff's deputies over the weekend.
Authorities say Patnode had 50 kilograms -- or about 110 pounds -- of the drug.
He was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, appeared in federal court Monday, and was held without bail pending a hearing later this week.
The charge carries a range of sentences from 10 years to life in prison.
