Morning Checkup: Child Sex Abuse

Posted: Updated:

Sexual abuse of children and teenagers is "disturbingly common."

That's according to Samaritan Medical Center resident psychiatrist Jason Lulejian.

He talked about the problem during Samaritan's weekly Morning Checkup segment on 7 News This Morning.

He says about 80,000 children 12 and under are assaulted in the U.S. each year and about 300,000 about the age of 12.

Watch the video as he talks about what signs of sexual abuse to look for and how parents can help.
