Lewis County General Unveils Expansion Plan To Public

Officials at Lewis County General Hospital want to give the facility a facelift.

Hospital CEO Jerry Cayer and COO Michele Prince presented their plan to the community Monday night.

The proposal includes building an addition for an ambulatory center, surgical services, outpatient care, adult day care rooms, a walk-in clinic, and behavioral health support.

The hospital is looking for $16 million from the state to get it done. The total project is estimated at $22 million.

"So the grant will be submitted in the first week of November and we expect we will have an answer in the end of June, early July," Cayer said, "and assuming that the answer is 'yes,' we would break ground in the spring of 2019."

The meeting was part of the grant-building process and designed to get public feedback about the plans.
