North Country Enjoys Taste Of Spring

North Country Enjoys Taste Of Spring

Not a flake of snow in sight at Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Park. And with weather reaching the high 50s, the unseasonably warm weather Wednesday certainly wasn't lost upon those passing through.

"I love it. Part of me really likes it and part of me wishes there was still snow on the ground so we could be skiing," said Kevin Smith, Sackets Harbor resident.

Other people say this weather is simply odd for this time of year.

"I guess I have mixed feeling because we seem to have these swings in the temperatures - and it is unseasonable - and that's a little spooky for me," said John Aviste, fears the good weather.

Aviste took a walk with some friends vising from Canada, while dogs frolicked in the park behind them. It was the type of weather for summer clothes and summer activities and some had some pretty ambitious plans.

We caught up with two fitness instructors who took advantage of the great weather by starting their very own Instagram account.

They posed for photos as a cool, but comfortable, breeze blew off the still frozen harbor over their yoga mat and blanket.

"They call us the wonder twins at the gym because we are body combat instructors so we decided to create an Instagram to bring people to do fun exercise together," said Erica Nonni, fitness instructor.

And those wonder twins say they are going to take as much advantage as they can of this wonderful weather - like so many others in the north country.
