And by virtue of their win Sunday, and Wisconsin's loss to Minnesota in the WCHA Championship Game, the Lady Golden Knights earned the top seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, as the brackets were released Sunday night. The Lady Golden Knights will host Mercyhurst in the quarterfinals at Cheel Arena this coming weekend with a trip to the frozen four on the line.
St. Lawrence took on Dartmouth in the 3rd and deciding game of their ECAC Opening Round Series in Hanover, New Hampshire Sunday. Corey Kalk's 3rd period goal broke a 1 all tie and give Dartmouth a 2-1 win and the series 2 games to 1. The Saints finish the season with a record of 8-27-2.
Saturday night in Remsen, Olympic Luger, Erin Hamlin, returned home after competing for the final time in the 2018 Olympics in Pyonchang. Hamlin, who carried the U.S. Flag in the opening ceremonies, announced her retirement from competitive competition before the 2018 games, but that didn't stop the small town in Oneida county from giving her a heroes welcome home. In 2014, in Sochi, Hamlin became the first female luger to medal at any winter Olympics.
