Gouverneur - Larry Kelsey, 65, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, surrounded by his family, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Thursday, March 8th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. Howard Maxson, pastor of the Fowler Baptist Church, officiating.

Larry was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on March 25, 1952, the son of Harold and Theresa LaPierre Kelsey.

He graduated from Paramount High School in California.

Larry married Kimber Manning on September 1, 1992 in Cancun, Mexico.

Larry had worked for Northland Construction, drove limousine for Michael’s Limousine Service, and had co-owned A-1 Limousine Service. He was employed at Corning for several years, retiring in 2014.

Larry and Kim moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ in October 2014, where they lived until recently. Larry enjoyed riding his Polaris Razr UTV through the desert, near his home. He also enjoyed reading, boating, and playing games on his phone. Larry was a wonderful soul that was always there with open arms, willing to do anything for anyone. He had a smile and spirit that could light up any room, and loved to crack jokes that everyone heard numerous times. His compassion and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Kimber, his children Ashley Kelsey, and her companion Zachery Cole of Fowler, Christopher and Joann Kelsey of Paso Robles, CA, Nikki Powell of Sprague River, OR, 6 grand children, 3 great grandchildren, a sister Judy Kelsey of Hemet, CA, and many nieces and nephews, and two grand-dogs, Zoey and Zeus.

Larry is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Nancy Stewart, and a brother, Fredrick “Skip” Kelsey.

Memorial donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Ryan’s Wish Foundation, PO Box 326, Gouverneur, NY 13642.
