That winter storm along the East Coast that's closing schools and prompting state officials to close highways to some traffic will hit the north country, but not too hard.
There's a winter weather advisory for St. Lawrence County that starts at 4 p.m. Wednesday and lasts until 7 p.m. Thursday.
An advisory for Jefferson and Lewis counties starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday and ends at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Snow could make roads slippery and reduce visibility.
Jefferson and Lewis counties could see 10 to 18 inches of snow, but that's over more than two days. Most of the snow is expected to fall Thursday and Thursday night.
St. Lawrence County will see less snow, from 3 to 6 inches, most of which will fall Wednesday evening and overnight into Thursday.
