A 39 year old Massena man faces felony charges after allegedly wheeling a dolly into a mall and using it to steal pellet stoves.

State police arrested Jason Smith on two counts of third-degree grand larceny.

Investigators said Smith is believed to have walked into the St. Lawrence Centre Mall during regular business hours during the month of December and used a dolly to steal two pellet stoves. The stoves were part of a display for Mullarney's Garden Center.

The theft was reported on December 21. After an investigation, police arrested Smith last Friday.

Investigators said the stoves were valued at $4,100 and $3,700.

According to police, the stoves were both sold; one was eventually recovered.

Smith was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.
