A registered nurse at Massena Memorial Hospital is accused of withdrawing medication without authorization.

State police say 51 year old Helen Lapage of Raymondville allegedly used patient information to withdraw medication without a doctor's orders from the hospital's automated dispenser.

The investigation was started by the state Department of Health.

She allegedly withdrew hydrocodone and oxycodone pills several times between January 1 and February 13.

Lapage was charged with computer trespass, first-degree falsifying business records, fraud, deceit related to controlled substances, and violations of public health law.

She was released to appear in Massena town court at a later date.
