It looks like Watertown will get its splash pad this summer.
Last week, city officials suggested council combine the project with the Thompson Park pool and bathhouse design.
City Engineer Justin Wood said this would create smoother construction and save money for the city.
However, it would put off building the splash pad until next year.
At this week's meeting, three council members said they want to stick to schedule, which would have the splash pad finished by this July.
"We've been saying all along that it's going to be open this year and I think people are expecting it. Get it done this year and give the kids at least a nice summer up there," said Lisa Ruggiero, council member.
Construction on the pool and bathhouse will likely begin next spring.
