Troopers Assisting Troops Gets $25K Donation

A $25,000 donation will help troopers help troops.

The Thousand Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton donated the money to North Country Troopers Assisting Troops, which helps the well-being of veterans by holding activities throughout the year, like a day of fishing.

This donation is the largest the organization has seen yet.

"Troopers Assisting Troops is a group of current and former troopers and we started a charitable organization to benefit local veterans who either were injured, became ill or got hurt during any conflict," said Rick Hathaway, treasurer of Troopers Assisting Troops.

This is the third donation the organization has received from the hotel.
