Two St. Lawrence County men were charged after they allegedly fled police on their ATVs.

State police say 23 year old Austin Villnave of Waddington and 22 year old James Wolff II of Colton were allegedly driving ATVs on private property in the Waddington area.

Police say they were called there around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Assisted by St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies, troopers located the machines driving south on Main Street and activated their patrol vehicle's emergency lights.

The ATVs didn't stop and tried to evade police by driving across private property.

The ATVs eventually stopped and the riders apprehended.

They were charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer along with several traffic violations.

They were ticketed and released to appear in Waddington town court at a later date.
