No Dexter Trash Pickup This Week

No Dexter Trash Pickup This Week

Posted: Updated:

If you live in Dexter and put your trash out Thursday, you might want to haul it back to your house.

Village officials say that this week's trash day has to be postponed because the normal hauler, Feher Rubbish Removal, went out of business.

And it will be next week before the new trash hauler can start.

That means any trash residents have will have to wait until next Thursday to be picked up.

"There's three important things; good water, good sewer, good garbage pick-up. These things are depended on on a weekly basis and all the sudden, bingo, nothing, it's not good for anybody," said Dexter Mayor Jim Eves.

The situation also means there will be no spring cleanup day in Dexter. Residents will have to wait until fall to get rid of their yard waste.

The villages of Brownville and Glen Park also used Feher for their trash pick up. Brownville has reached out to a new trash hauler. We haven't been able to reach Glen Park officials to see what they're doing.
