Brownville Residents Look At Bridge Replacement Options
Residents in Brownville took a look Thursday night at options for dealing with an important bridge in the village.
Officials say it's past its lifespan and it could be replaced with a bridge in the same location or a new one could be built in a new location.
Village residents met with planners at a public hearing.
"It's an old bridge," said Susan Hopkins of Highland Planning. "It's still safe, of course, but they look at how much longer will the bridge be useful and this is the time to start thinking about -- at a certain point, we're going to need to replace this bridge."
Hopkins says work on a new bridge would take several years to complete.
