Sackets Harbor School Celebrates Patriot Pride Day
It may be a half day at school but that doesn't mean students weren't working.
Sackets Harbor K through 12 students were out in the village Friday afternoon doing some spring cleaning, raking the military cemetery, cleaning the ambulances.
It's what the school calls Patriot Pride Day.
"We live in a gorgeous area with amazing landmarks. It's beautiful and we want people to really appreciate what they have right here in their home," said Sackets Harbor Superintendent Jennifer Gafffney.
"I get to help the community so that's nice and when I come back and I see that stuff, it's nice to see that's it's made a difference," said Alyssa Coleman, ninth grader.
The school has been holding Patriot Pride Day since the early 2000s.
