Volunteers Do Some Spring Cleanup in Downtown Watertown

Posted: Updated:

Saturday morning, roughly 25 people showed up to clean the streets of Watertown for this year's Downtown Watertown Cleanup Day.

The event is put on by the Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce. City council members Cody Horbacz and Mark Walczyk  also took part, pulling leaves and other debris out from under grates on the sidewalk downtown with Chamber President Kylie Peck.

"The grates actually around the trees looked like they hadn't been cleaned up in a while. So we lifted up the grates and got all the leaves and debris and trash out of there," Walczyk said.

One crew started cleaning behind the State Office Building before heading off to Public Square.
