Runners were up early for the Heather Freeman Run to the Sun. The run Saturday morning began behind the Davidson Nissan on Outer Washington Street in Watertown.
One woman was bundled up along the sidelines as her husband ran the half marathon which he nearly wins every year.
"My husband is running the half marathon. He's been doing it since he started and he's been taking second every year. He's hoping to break the curse and maybe win it this year.," said Michelle Brady, a Carthage resident,
The Heather Freeman Run to the Sun is an annual charity event named after Heather Freeman, who was killed in a motorcycle accident several years ago. Money raised helps with public service campaigns throughout the community.
