St Lawrence County sheriff handcuffs arrest Caption
A former program director for Cooperative Extension in St. Lawrence County faces larceny and fraud charges.
St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 26 year old Misty Cisneros of Canton was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree scheming to defraud, first-degree falsifying business records, and third-degree forgery.
Detectives say Cisneros was in charge of a program that issued $10 gift cards to participants learning good grocery shopping habits. Cisneros allegedly signed up people involved with other Cooperative Extension programs into her program without their knowledge and pocketed the gift cards.
Detectives say it happened between July and November of 2017.
Cisneros was issued tickets to appear in Canton town court at a later date.
