A candlelight vigil in Washington D.C. was held for police officers who died in 2017. Among them was a north country native.
Joel Davis was shot and killed in July of last year after responding to a domestic dispute near Theresa.
Some 30,000 people attended the 30th annual event Sunday night on the National Mall. Davis' name joins thousands of others dedicated on the walls of the memorial.
The candlelight vigil marked the beginning of National Police Week, which will run through Saturday.
