Residents in the village of Harrisville will vote Tuesday on whether or not the village dissolves.
The Development Authority of the North Country conducted a year-long study on the village.
Dissolution could result in a 57 percent decrease in municipal taxes for village residents.
Ultimately, the public will decide if the village dissolves into the town of Diana at the end of the year.
"In my opinion, the village should dissolve. For the services that the village provides, it's not worth the amount of money that we're all paying as individual taxes," said Kelly Ritz, Harrisville resident.
"I would hope at the end we still have a village because they are the people, the DPW people, that take care of all the little details here that make businesses here expand," said Harrisville Mayor Gary Williams.
Voting runs from noon to 9 p.m. in the village Tuesday.
