Little Libraries Popping Up Around Area

Posted: Updated:

Little libraries are popping up throughout the area. They're slightly larger than a bird house and full of books.

There are 8 of these book exchanges - one outside of Ohio Elementary School, the other outside of Wiley Intermediate and another is at the intersection of Green Street and Myrtle Avenue.

"These are opportunities where people can come and grab books and borrow and then return them, or return something different in exchange, just so we are promoting literacy around the community and that people have another viable option to borrow books." said Stacey Eger, assistant superintendent for the Watertown City School District.

More little libraries will be in place by the end of the year.
