School budgets passed at every single north country school district Tuesday as communities voted on spending for the upcoming year.

School board elections coincided with the budget votes. A handful of districts were faced with a problem of open school board seats with no one running to fill them. That was the case in Ogdensburg, Morristown and Sandy Creek.

In Ogdensburg, retiring 7th and 8th grade principal Pamela Luckie was elected to the district's school board by receiving 213 write-in votes. The school says she's accepted the position. Luckie's term on the board is for three years.

Two board seats were filled by write-in votes in Morristown. Tammy Ritchie received 61 write-in votes and Jeffrey LaJoy 44. They will serve three-year terms alongside David Young, who is the re-elected incumbent.

Heidi Metott was elected to a five-year term on Sandy Creek's school board by the way of 103 write-in votes. School officials said there were about 20 or so write-in candidates, most receiving single votes. Officials added Metott has accepted the position.

In Watertown, Beth Linderman, current president of the Watertown City School Board retained her seat by beating out Matthew Munoz, 389-201.
