Former Blue Oyster Cult Members Inducted Into TI Hall Of Fame

It was a night where the stars came back home to the north country.

Two former Thousand Islands Central School students, Albert and Joe Bouchard, are former members of the rock-and-roll band Blue Oyster Cult.

They were inducted into the school's Arts Hall of Fame Tuesday night.

Both men are Clayton natives and moved to Long Island where they joined the band in 1971. Since then, they have performed all over the world.

Albert is also a teacher and had a message about the goal of a teacher's job:

"The best thing that a teacher can do is to show the students that they have the power inside of them," he said.

Each brother received a plaque to commemorate the event. After the awards ceremony, the members of the Blue Oyster Cult performed for a packed house at the high school.

They played such fan favorites as "Burning For You" and "The Reaper."
