A new study finds the majority of patients with the most common type of breast cancer can safely opt out of chemotherapy.

Research in the New England Journal of Medicine studied thousands of women at intermediate risk for their cancer to recur.

It found about 70 percent can be treated without chemo.

Detecting Lung Cancer

A simple blood test may be able to detect early stage lung cancer.

A study at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute looked at samples from 1,700 people.

It found that analyzing DNA in the blood may lead to early diagnosis of lung cancer.

DTaP Vaccine Update

A study in Pediatrics finds no new or unexpected safety issues in a widely used childhood vaccine.

Researchers analyzed the DTap vaccine, which protects against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough.

Over a 19-year period,  the most common side effect was redness and swelling.
