A new place to play is becoming a reality in Cape Vincent.
The new playground, costing $140,000, is coming along.
Students, school staff and community members are helping to build it.
The real vision, you can say, came from three elementary school students, who came up with the design and raised $4,000.
"I said at lunch to my friends that we should do it. They said no, but I started with a jar, then a lemonade stand, then went on to the bake sale," said Max Chavoustie, 4th grader.
"Definite shout out to the Cape Vincent town and village and the Thousand Islands district crews. They've volunteered their time especially Friday and Saturday to be here," said Erin Churchill, playground committee.
Local stores donated stones and concrete for the build. The playground opens June 15.
