Malone: Marjorie E. Beaubien, 88, of Hogansburg, peacefully passed away on June 11, 2018 at the Alice Center surrounded by her loving family. Per Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. A Memorial Mass will be held in her memory at a later date.
Marjorie was born on August 27, 1929 in Saranac Lake, NY, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Bero) Kelly. She attended Bombay High School, graduating in 1947 and then attended Watertown Business School for accounting. Marjorie married Leonard P. Beaubien on November 12, 1949 at St. Regis Catholic Church. He later predeceased her on April 1, 1990.
Marjorie was a bus driver for Salmon River School District for 10 years and later went to work at the Hogansburg Post Office as a Mail Clerk and retired as Post Master after 25 years. She was a member of the Hogansburg Post 1479 American Legion Auxiliary as well as a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Senior Club. Marjorie always enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.
Marjorie is survived by three daughters, Leona Benedict of St. Regis, Quebec, Candice and husband Steve Thomas of St. Regis Quebec and Lilian Swamp of Hogansburg, NY; a son, Kelly Beaubien of Cornwall Island, Ontario; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Benjamin and Betty Kelly of Hogansburg; a sister in law, Beverly and Yan Shmeis of Durango, Colorado; a brother in law, Gordon Beaubien (Lucy) of Hogansburg and many nieces and nephews.
